Gemini 13. With each breath another new and unknown smell is detected. (Omega Symbol) Transforming/Receptive

TITLE:  OPENNESS COMBINED WITH CAREFULNESS

Every single thing we encounter in life has many implications, many layers and meanings. You are capable of seeing things in depth, and of always looking at the world with fresh eyes. Because of this you can help people overcome the dreariness and boredom of life and see that they live in a world of strangeness, enchantment, and wonder.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “Garlic hung at the window for protection.” Garlic, of course, is the traditional protection against vampires, and so this degree is about protecting oneself form any forces that might seek to dissipate or drain one’s energy.

These two symbols are complementary opposites – the Omega Symbol signifies being open to the multifarious energies surrounding oneself, whereas the Chandra Symbol isolates and protects the self from parasitic influences. We have to first expose ourselves to the whole of life before we can be aware of what we wish to connect with and what we wish to be separated from. This degree signifies both of those processes.

Plieadian Symbol: A man and his piano levitate as he performs a rhapsody. Passionately giving one’s all to whatever one is doing, and a sense of exhilaration from doing so.

Azoth Symbol: A collection of coins and medals from a people who mysteriously disappeared. Recapturing lost pieces of reality through one’s ability to tune into and interpret clues.

Seed degree: Leo 27. A man draws a picture on the surface of a lake. (Omega Symbol). When we communicate with our own emotional self, we enter into the vibration of the astral plane, where everything is always changing, flowing and manifesting in a new way – like the patterns in moving water.

A beaded curtain. (Chandra Symbol). Knowing that we can protect ourselves from energies which might harm us, our barriers can then become flexible so as to allow in those influences which harmonize with us.

Fulfillment degree: Aries 7. An old man admiring a portrait of himself as a youth. (Omega Symbol). The ever-changing manifestations of consciousness allow us to appreciate the process of our own evolution.

A double headed eagle, the heads face in opposite directions.(Chandra Symbol). When we are able to protect ourselves from those forces which might vampirize us, we come into a realization of our own power, and of both the potentially positive and negative uses of it.

Oracle

Symphonies of the nose, downloaded with each breath. And as he continued to read the ever-changing smells he realized he had entered the perfumer’s library. Here were stored the scents of summer evenings, moonlit gardens, and spring pageants, where a million petals had rained and scattered. And here also were even the odors of back alleys with their drifts of refuse, for even the rotten notes of death and decay might be faintly used by the master to sharpen the edge of a fragrant summer rose. It was curious and engaging reading these invisible books that suddenly appeared and disappeared, and in which he encountered many strange and unfamiliar words that tickled his nose as it attempted to pronounce them.

Azoth Oracle

The Zakhars were a race of mystics who had dwelt on the shores of the Azoth Sea many centuries ago, and who had mysteriously disappeared. They are only known through legends and rumors, and through scant mention of them in the writings of other races.

Funarius, the great antiquarian, has one of the only known artifacts that is certain to have been made by the Zakhars – three large gold medallions and 7 gold coins of different sizes and denominations.

Zabirius, a scholar researching the Zakhars came to the home of Funarius to view these objects,  and stayed with him for several weeks, so that he might study them.

One of these medallions depicted the profile of a man whose visage enthralled the scholar. For several hours each day over the period of a week he gazed at it, until one night Ateh, the sage depicted on the coin, came to him in a dream and began relating to him the history of the Zakhars.

This is how the three volume “Annals of the Zakhars” came into being.

As Irnad has said, “To see deeply into anything is to know everything. Everywhere we look we find portals. It is desire which carries us across their thresholds.”
