Pisces 8. Through a microscope, a scientist observes a deadly virus.
Irnad invented a microscope so that he might observe a powerful virus whose symptoms affected the mind of whoever it infected, bringing them nightmares. These nightmares lacked consistency and varied from person to person, summoning from the imagination of the victim their greatest fears.
When Irnad first viewed the virus he saw it grow before his eyes, and as he peered into it he saw visions lurking in its depths, visions that mirrored his own deepest fears — though in his writings he never specifically described what these were.
It was through this discovery of the nature of the virus that he developed his famous methods of entering and restructuring the dreams of others — methods requiring great resourcefulness, for each patient required a different cure.
This is why Irnad, though he rarely left his round tower during the whole of his life was known as “Irnad the Far Traveler.”
