Phase 39. Diamond in the Rough (Resh Hey Ayin)

Angel: REHAEL (RAY-ha-EL) Filial Submission

11. In a Tibetan monastery, hundreds of candles burning. (Omega Symbol)Transforming/Experimental

(Degree Angel: Asaliah (a-SA-lee-YAH) Global Transformation, Contemplation)

In the darkest of passages through life there is kept burning the lights of helping influences, if we can only maintain our contact with them. You are always aware, somewhere in your being, that where you put your attention is the key to moving beyond the illusion of physical reality. You sense that where you place your focus is what can ultimately change everything.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “Tea leaves that form a pentagram.”
The tea leaves have settled after the tea has been consumed, leaving a pentagram. This is a meaningful coincidence. This degree is about perceiving order and finding meaning in the seemingly random occurrences of life. These meaningful coincidences are a way of connecting with the divine, as are the candles of the Omega Symbol. To gain the most from this degree you need to be aware of these signs as they come to you, and be sensitive to your intuition and instincts, so as to tune in to the spiritual forces that are in so many ways making themselves known.

The pentagram signifies the life force, harmony, and health – organizing forces always there and always wanting to imprint themselves on our lives. There is only one spiritual light, but it manifests in many forms, as signified by the hundreds of candles of the Omega Symbol.

Pleiadian Symbol: A holy man lecturing to a group of mountains.

Azoth Symbol: Men meditating as they walk repeatedly around the walls of an ancient city.

Seed degree: Leo 7. The barking of a dog echoes across a moonlit landscape. (Omega Symbol). The free and uninhibited expression of feeling is focused, through intent, as a vehicle for bringing the spiritual light into the physical world.

A very weak cup of tea. (Chandra Symbol). Perception of the subtleties of the world tunes in to significant signs and portents.

Fulfillment degree: Aquarius 16. Cliffs hundreds of feet high that stretch for many miles along a shoreline. (Omega Symbol).
A concentrated focus on positive energy lifts us above the turmoils of the world so that w may experience a deeper understanding of the conflicts at work in this world.

Ground up gemstones to be used as medicine. (Chandra Symbol). Perceiving the harmonies at work beneath all of nature, we take on the arduous task of assimilating their energy.

In the center of each candle flame an enlightened being sits, spine aligned to the black wick as they feel the flame drawing the fuel into itself where it turns into light. Outside, the moon hangs so still and clear that if you look up to it and gaze steadily you may see in great detail the vast seas of dust laying there, far beyond the reaches of any wind.

Libra 12. A man gathering seeds from a white morning glory. (Omega Symbol) Transforming/Sensitive

Relationships, like everything else, are subject to entropy – are always winding (Degree Angel: Mihael (MIH-a-EL) Unity, Fertility, Fruitfulness)
down and dying away. You have a way of being able to keep relationships going by rekindling them, by finding new ways of relating, new ways of generating connection. It is your dharma to be one who maintains and rebirths relationships in their ever-changing cycles of growth.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “The burning of a bough of sage.”
The forces of fire release the healing forces of the earth into the air. The sage smoke purifies the aura and the atmosphere. The morning glories of the Omega Symbol signify waking up, soul enlivenment, and their white color signifies a clearing that makes way for a new beginning.

At worst this degree signifies being caught in stagnating relationships that do not further one or enrich one’s life, because they are stuck in old patterns. The Omega Symbol is not “White morning glories,” but “A man gathering SEEDS from a white morning glory.” The man is preparing for the future growth of the morning glories, just as whoever is burning the bough of sage in the Chandra Symbol is preparing the space receiving the sage smoke for whatever is going to happen next. And so if you want change in your relationships, you must prepare for that change, clear away the old energies which are no longer necessary, so that a space is then made for renewal and a new cycle of growth.

Pleiadian Symbol:Black butterflies emerging from a cave and becoming brilliantly colored as they enter the light.

Azoth Symbol: The Moon Goddess, leaving no footprints, walks across the Moon.

Seed degree: Leo 19. A painting is cleaned, revealing colors of otherworldly beauty. (Omega symbol). Becoming more acutely aware of the beauty of the world around us, we accumulate the power to keep our consciousness turned to the highest and clearest messages from spirit.

A hummingbird feeding at a trumpet vine. (Chandra Symbol). As we keep our world free of negative energies and influences, we can see more and more clearly what it is, specifically, that we need.

Fulfillment degree: Pisces 16. A troll living under a bridge. (Omega Symbol).
When we focus on the highest and purest, we are inevitably confronted with changes we need to make, and those energies which stand in the way of us making them.

A peaceful child on a narrow ledge that overlooks a precipice. (Chandra Symbol).
Dispersing discordant influences sets up a force field of protection around us.

(From the Botanica Obscura of Lucidus:). . . For it is known of the wise that various and sundry wandering spirits and elementals will often come to live in the funnels of morning glories, especially those of the white variety, their blooms providing a kind of haven or refuge, as they are most receptive to and collect a pure and fine energy from the sky, which those that inhabit the flowers find both delectable and nourishing.

Libra 13. As he matures, a man’s paintings grow simpler and simpler. (Omega Symbol) Transforming/Receptive

(Degree Angel: Vehuel (Vay-hoo-EL) Happiness, Elevation, Grandeur)

You’re trying to communicate something very definite, though you may not know exactly what it is. Or, even if you do, it may not be capable of being summed up in a few words. If you keep trying to say what’s in your mind you will find over time that what you wish to say will come forth from you with increasing clarity. It’s a manner of enjoying the effort without trying too hard.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “Men and women in white towels in a steam bath talking and sweating profusely.”
The man of the Omega Symbol has cleared out everything superficial in his paintings, just as the people of the Chandra Symbol are clearing their bodies of impurities and their minds of whatever is burdening them. This degree has a beautiful way of being at once diplomatic – a Libra quality – while yet direct, clear, open, and fresh. It imbues the Libran charm with the freshness and vitality of Aries. We might call this degree “healing through sharing.”

Pleiadian Symbol: Children watching sylphs floating through the air.

Azoth Symbol: On a winter day a maid has arisen to prepare a house for others’ awakening.

Seed degree: Virgo 1. Late at night, someone comes home and slowly ascends the stairs. (Omega Symbol). Becoming clearer and clearer in our expression impels us to turn within so as to experience more deeply the energies at work in our consciousness.

A volcano erupting at night. (Chandra Symbol). As we release what it is inside us and find encouragement in the outside world for doing this, we finally a reach a point of deep, spontaneous clearing.

Fulfillment degree: Aries 17. A man is riding a horse north as he searches for the Kingdom of the Fairies. (Omega Symbol). Clearing away all that is extraneous, we come, eventually, to the realm of magic.

A bodiless head asleep on the breach. (Chandra Symbol). Sharing in a cathartic way with others carries us, eventually, into a deep, comtemplative state.

A castle by a lake and the dark shadows of each leaf shifting under summer clouds. This is not simple, said the people, these paintings are complicated. Who is in the castle? And who is that man asleep by the lake? Look more closely, said the painter, and you will see through the castle walls, into the very denizens that live there, and you will dream the dreams of the man asleep by the lake if you will only look more closely. Gaze into my simplicity.

Libra 14. A storm raging in Antarctica. (Omega Symbol) Transforming/Responsible

(Degree Angel: Daniel (DA-nee-EL) Enough is Never Enough, Eloquence)

You tap deeply into the stuck places of both yourself and other people. You can pinpoint what is wrong in an extremely acute way, and can see how dysfunctions grow and proliferate. At your best you are able to just let what you see play itself out, and without having to do much in an outer way knowing that your caring observation of all this is will actually bring healing energy to the situation.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A Chariot pulled by four elephants.” This image has a slow, stately quality which is seemingly the diametric opposite of its corresponding Omega Symbol, which is fierce and harsh. Antarctica is at the extreme bottom of our globe, and signifies the deep subconscious, as well as our spiritual foundation. Tremendous forces are always at work here. It is not a place that is welcoming to the body, but it IS a place full of the beauty of nature and hence welcoming to the mind and imagination.

The chariot of the Chandra Symbol is not getting any place fast, but it most certainly is traveling steadily and patiently. The nice thing about going so slow is that you miss very little and have time to enjoy the passing scenery. Impatience will not make the chariot move faster, just as there is no way to turn back the storm raging in Antarctica. Why try? Just be with it all – there is a potent alchemy in doing just that.

Pleiadian Symbol: In bright sunlight an empty street and and a shadow disappearing around a corner.

Azoth Symbol: By sound an energy therapist mends a broken leg.

Seed degree: Virgo 13. A meteorite with the edges worn smooth. (Omega Symbol).
Having learned how to deal with the world in a soft, gentle manner, we are able to confront the most intense forces of nature without losing our balance.

A man with hair on his back. (Chandra Symbol). As we become more and more sensitized to our own power, we find we are able to move toward goals in a stable, patient, and grounded manner.

Fulfillment degree: Taurus 17. A book patiently waiting to spill forth its vast and profound knowledge. (Omega Symbol). Attuning to the depths of our inner powers we find ourselves in possession of a wealth of wisdom we may access.

A pomegranate broken open. (Chandra Symbol). Slow and steady progress leads to abundant fruition.

In the full moon the fierce wind is howling, raging, the snows gigantic tentacles lashing the landscape, gales pouring down the mountains, as waves of the sea crash onto cliffs of ice.

And peacefully angels walk through the garden’s raging perpetual winter, admiring the storm that is in full bloom, their hair and gowns gently flowing in their own mild breeze which follows them everywhere they go.

Libra 15. Young girls harvesting the choicest leaves of green tea. (Omega Symbol) Transforming/Inspired

(Degree Angel: Hahasiah (he-HA-see-Yah) No Guilt, Universal Medicine)

You know how to take the time and careful, personal, artful effort to bring out the very best in a situation, and thereby to create maximum enjoyment of it by both yourself and other people. This helps others to feel all of life more vividly and fully, and to slow down and see with far greater clarity what is truly most important to them. A beautiful skill executed wonderfully.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “ Prehistoric paintings on the walls of a vast chamber of a cave.” The cave has preserved the paintings by protecting them from wind, rain, ice, snow and erosion. Deep within you are these beautiful pictures that have been there from time immemorial. It is wonderful they have been protected and are preserved. But it is also wonderful to share them with others. The challenge here is to invite others into your world so that you may share yourself with them in a deep way. You are seeking a vivid, transcendent way of relating, a way that overcomes all limits and which touches others deeply. It is only difficult to do this if you allow self-doubt to stand in the way. If you are willing to let go of uncertainty and immerse yourself totally in being who you are, magical connections with others will spontaneously arise.

Pleiadian Symbol: A spiral path that never seems to come to an end.

Azoth Symbol: A theoretical mathematician inventing formulae simply for the sake of their beauty.

Seed degree: Virgo 25. A man crawling on his hands and knees through dust keeps finding jewels and other valuable items. (Omega symbol). Looking deeply into life we find those things of great value that help us to bring loving care into all that we do.

A gold ring in the form of a snake swallowing its own tail. (Chandra Symbol). Realizing the repetitive nature of all cycles we come to see the deeper meaning and purpose of that which we continually repeat.

Fulfillment degree: Gemini 17.Deep in a cave a large albino snake. (Omega Symbol).
Giving loving and careful attention to all that we do creates in us an attunement to a pure source of deep inner wisdom.

A magic coin that has only one side. (Chandra Symbol). Perceiving the ancient imprints that exist in the deepest layers of our unconscious, we are able to see more clearly the one-sidedness of our thinking and how all thoughts are illusions.

They call the tea “ancient emerald lily.” The tea bushes are wild, and so old the girls that harvest them must stand on little ladders to pick the smallest leaves that appear in spring at the tips of the branches.

On a dark winter day we discovered a tin of it on a shelf and brewed it, and a mist rose out of the pot which was scented pale green like the spring mists of an old Chinese forest.
