Cancer 17. A man’s shadow moving independently of him.

TITLE:  GOING OVER AND OVER SOMETHING AS A MEANS OF WEARING ONES WAY INTO UNCONSCIOUS MATERIAL

Always faithful to light and movement, shadows suffer a deep devotion to the expected. The vampire’s shadow, though, was so old that its memory had worn thin, and one night, bored, it decided to play with a candle, and began to move in whatever way happened to capture its fancy.

Being the vampire’s dark side, it found itself dreaming of helping others, of caring for those who suffered, and of refreshing itself with a bath of sunlight. Had the vampire not taken his shadow so for granted, maybe it would have been more loyal.
