Cancer 9. A man shaking dew off orchids into a glass vial. (Omega Symbol) Interacting/Responsible

(Degree Angel: YERATEL (YEH-ra-TEL) Silent Partner, Propagation of the Light)

TITLE:  THE JOY OF MUTATION

You find what is good and useful in unexpected places. You want to help others and to be of service, and your way of doing this is often indirect and subtle. Your being communicates to others the truth that change is nothing to fear, that it is, in fact beautiful, and that nature offers us a myriad of energies to nurture our soul.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A skeleton playing a flute.” Presumably the man of the Omega Symbol is engaged in the process of making flower remedies – there is a set of orchid remedies that are made in just this way, i.e., by collecting the dew off the orchids and using that as the remedy. The skeleton of the Omega Symbol is, on one level, the spirit of the sign Capricorn, which rules the bones of the body. Capricorn’s verb is “I use,” and Capricorn has to do with finding ways to make use of all which is around it. This degree is about finding the most efficient ways of using anything for the purpose of nurturing.

Of course on another level the skeleton is death, but here, rather than being a force to fear, it offers beautiful music, reminding us that death is what allows us to live, grow, and flourish. Knowing that death is only a part of the cyclic process of death and rebirth rather than the permanent end of all things, we see through the illusion of death, and can then enjoy the beautiful music it makes with life.

Pleiadian Symbol: A sylph reaches into a pool to caress a fish.

Azoth Symbol: The sound of singing voices echoes through a dark, cavernous cathedral.

Seed degree: Cancer 10. An artist making shadowboxes in which he is placing collages and various small objects. (Omega Symbol). Creatively juxtaposing many diverse things as a means of communicating becomes a basis for capturing the feeling-essence of the various energies of nature.

A violent hail storm. (Chandra Symbol). Witnessing the purging forces of nature we let go of the fear of change and find ways to joyfully support them.

Fulfillment degree: Gemini 9. A ruby growing in a laboratory. (Omega Symbol). Capturing the life essence of anything, we find increasingly clever and unusual ways of working with it.

Wild flowers growing around the ruins of a temple. (Chandra Symbol). Through joyously accepting and fostering change, we come to see that the true essence of anything never dies, but is simply reborn in a different form.

Oracle

Condensing, the mist has lost its shadows and found orchids. The round surfaces of the globules magnify the dawn twilight and its fading stars. He has come to collect the dew, filled with the orchid’s light. When he has enough he shall take it to his laboratory and there stabilize the orchids’ fleeting spirit captured in the dew, so that it may be amplified and preserved, and eventually used to help his patients relocate their own inner gardens and dawns where their forgotten orchids are blooming.

Azoth Oracle

The glass columns of the cathedral of Tradith are of smooth lead crystal imbued with the slightest amount of silver. Architects marvel that over many centuries these tall columns which support the amazingly high ceiling of the cathedral have never been damaged, or even scratched, and attribute their integrity and perfection to magic rites with which the original architects protected them.

The columns are thought to store the memories of sound, for at certain times they begin to spontaneously reverberate with a chorus of voices who sing the canticles of antiquity, just as they were sung long ago in the cathedral. This happens infrequently, and never during rituals or services, but always at night when the cathedral is mostly empty.

Irnad, who has studied the phenomenon has found that the columns sing always on the evening prior to a lunar eclipse, and says he thinks that the voices stored in the columns and which are released at these times have a regenerative effect on the cathedral, which has never in its long life been in need of repairs.
