Aquarius 15. A geisha applying her makeup. (Omega Symbol) Transforming/Inspired

(Degree Angel: YERATEL (YEH-ra-TEL) Hidden Helpers, Proliferation of the Spiritual Light)

This degree has the ability to play a role as a means of being an integrated part of the world around it. There is a love here of ritual, and of carefully and fully taking on the part to be enacted. And all this for the purpose of revealing a cosmic, exalted energy secretly existing in the seemingly mundane, so that the everyday taken-for-granted world is imbued with mystery and wonder.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A jade burial suit.” A self-consistency is maintained here that seems on the surface regular and smooth. This degree chooses a way of being and holds to it – not because they are inherently rigid or dogmatic, but as a means of trying to make sense out of existence. They tend to have strong opinions and a willingness to express them, but are inherently non-argumentative, and beyond any desire to engage in conflict. They are strongly drawn, sometimes obsessively, to very particular ideas and endeavors, and it is through pursuing these with all the steadiness that their desires demand, that they eventually come to a deep knowledge of who they really are.

This degree is about protecting one’s vulnerability so that inner exploration may be safely engaged in.

Pleiadian Symbol: Two crows in a tree watching lovers below embrace. Awareness of the spiritual and soul implications inherent in all one’s attractions. Continual detached observation doing on even in the midst of passionate engagement.  The crows are the unbounded souls of the lovers who have the power to travel between this realm and the spirit realms.  The lovers deep connection to each other makes them aware of their connection to the greater reality that exists beyond the illusions of this one.

Azoth Symbol: A man cataloging asteroids and giving names to the nameless ones. A passion for identifying and labeling the great varieties of experience. Acute and highly detailed observation.  Learning the nature of the whole through the careful studying of fragments.  The geisha of the Omega Symbol carefully puts together every minute part of her makeup achieve an overall effect, just as the man of this symbol is working to comprehend the whole through the understanding of its tiniest parts.

Seed degree: Virgo 29.Pagans purifying themselves beneath a waterfall. (Omega Symbol). Clearing our emotional body in the fresh-flowing waters of joy we are then ready to play our role in the world.

A witch preparing magic mushrooms. (Chandra Symbol). To journey within and learn from the deeply buried inner riches of the self requires one to be impervious to the assaults and promptings of the outer world (the jade burial suit is what offers the protection).

Fulfillment degree: Gemini 27. Cleaning someone’s aura with a quartz crystal. (Omega Symbol). Identifying with an exalted role (the geisha) we are able to release all those energies not in alignment with our true self.

Much food stored in a cool cave. (Chandra Symbol). Having resisted so many outer compulsions, conflicts and distractions (by wearing the jade burial suit) we discover within ourselves tremendous amounts of nourishment.

The Geisha known as Koonara was said to be nearly 2oo years old.  Few have ever seen her without her makeup, and those who have in secret caught a glimpse of her without it say her face is ancient, covered with the deep scars of time and mottled like the back of a lizard.  But Koonara was the lover of the famous Alchemist Zaroth, who bequeathed to her a large store of magic makeup which, when she carefully applies it creates the perfect illusion of youth.

And even though she has been glimpsed by servants hobbling slowly around her courtyard sometimes in the predawn, when she performs the makeup seems to also restore the youthful powers of her body, making her lithe and graceful in all her movements.
