Libra 21. The sea as still as a mirror. (Omega Symbol) Interacting/Experimental

(Degree Angel: NEMAMIAH (ne-MAM-mee-YAH) Listening to Your Soul, Discernment)

TITLE:  ENERGY AND POWER FOUND IN THE MIDST OF STILLNESS AND FOCUS

When the mind is stilled, emotional turbulence subsides and the vast depths of the subconscious can be experienced. This degree of Libra can bring other people to a much deeper awareness of every aspect of their consciousness. They impart to the world around them a clarity that is transcendently healing, even if many people can only experience it for moments at a time.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A magician wearing a live snake for a belt.” The snake divides the body unto upper and lower halves which signify spirit and matter. The snake signifies wisdom, hence this image has to do with the interaction of spirit and matter as it happens cyclically – the process of spirit incarnating, losing self awareness, regaining some of it, returning to spirit to assimilate what it has learned, and returning to matter to learn more.

It is the constant turbulence of the phenomenal world that keeps our consciousness shrouded in illusion. This degree has a deep desire to see beyond this turbulence to the still sea of the Omega Symbol. At its best it is able to see all relationships in the context of the evolutionary process, and to tap into the deepest meaning that lies beyond all outer conflict and confusion. In essence, this degree has the power to look beyond surface distortions to glimpse the core meanings of all its connections.

Pleiadian Symbol: A group on the beach watching ships returning laden with treasure. The sharing and reinforcing of positive expectancy. Generous empowerment of others by directing their attention toward the potential of abundance.

Azoth Symbol: Beings who survive by changing their form. The willingness to give up one’s identity and take on new ones as a means of evolving, and to encourage others to do the same. This happens through the stillness and receptivity of the sea in the Omega Symbol, implying that it is the turbulence of the emotional self that keeps us attached to our self-definitions.

Seed degree: Sagittarius 7. A mirror covered with a shroud. (Omega Symbol). Letting go of outer appearances we are able to tune in to the ever present silence in which we perpetually dwell.

Rats with ruby eyes. (Chandra Symbol). When we vividly perceive the overall patterns of existence we find ourselves relating to the world in a creative and passionate manner.

Fulfillment degree: Sagittarius 17. A flame dancing at the top of a man’s head. (Omega Symbol). Tuning in to the inner stillness allows a clear vision of our spiritual self to emerge.

A monkey dressed in a brocade coat. (Chandra Symbol). Deeply attuned to our inner wisdom we are able to play and to take on roles that feel like they suit the needs of the moment.

Oracle

The sea has been known sometimes to become completely still, remaining as clear as a mirror even in the presence of wind. This phenomenon seems to arise from the sea itself as a kind of intent which allows starlight to enter it more completely. In fact, some observers have suggested that the sea has a need for starlight as a nutrient and will still itself in this way to fulfill that need. If this be the case, it is most intriguing to wonder what might be the nature and characteristics of a sea starved of starlight. Possibly researchers will one day build a little sea to study the effects on it of starlight deprivation.
