Libra 16. After many revisions, a poem is thrown away.

Words appear and disappear in the poem, and as they do the poem is always a different one. The changing poem becomes a trickle of poems which flows out of the realm of all possible ones. And like most poems the poems evaporate as they appear, until finally, abandoned by every word they subside, some of them, possibly, appearing to the dreaming ear occasionally as a vague, scented mist.

“Milon’s lost poem, ‘Phantasmagoria,'”, said Irnad, “was destroyed by him after many revisions, for it was not to his liking.  It is sad, on the one hand, that we cannot see this poem by Aab’s greatest poet, even if he considered it imperfect.”

“But,” he added, “over the centuries many have dreamed of listening to it being recited, though when they awake in ecstasy from hearing it, none can ever call to memory even one line.”
