Cancer 26: Sounds of laughter coming from many different directions in the forest.

It may be laughter that was always there, but he was just beginning to notice it. Yes, he realized, the forest was always laughing, and, having lost his way and being alone, he could hear it now, the trees, the creatures, the rocks and light all laughing at each other, laughing in their joy of being together.

It was a quiet, faint laughter, which the wind carried through the forest. He could hear it echoing in his own heart, and feel it rise from there into his own throat, until he, too began laughing.

And, once he had found his way out of the forest and returned home he realized, as he fell asleep, that he could still find the forest inside him, the laughter there having dimmed to a smile in the night.
