Taurus 5

The tiny porcelain figures are a collection of personality types—characters from plays, novels, history, mythology, or possibly the denizens of an artist’s imagination. People who have been, could be, might be. We’re trying to understand all the different possible types and kinds of humanity, trying to get a feeling for the limits and boundaries of consciousness—its coastline. What this creates in us is a rich, imaginative, and endlessly inventive inner life that ultimately helps us transcend the limits of personality. It also helps others to whom we are connected become freed of the burdensome aspects of personality, by seeing themselves as denizens of a dream or fairytale. In this manner, personality is imbued with light, play, and mythic implications. When we see ourselves as living symbols, we loosen the binding limits of identity and make room for wonder.
