Chandra Symbol for Cancer 14 · John Sandbach, The Circular Temple
The Omega Symbol is a collection of precious rocks. The Chandra Symbol is a collection of random rocks which, rather than each being distinct, have been worn smooth by water—that is, they have been made more uniform with each other until they bear the sameness of leaves on a tree.
Either way, we’re dealing with collections of rocks. In the case of the Omega Symbol, we admire them for their beautiful colors and striking, unique forms. In the Chandra Symbol, we admire them for their plainness and beautiful smoothness, polished by the water. In life there is a beauty in plainness, sameness, and repetition, as well as in being special, rare, and different. You move fluidly between reverence for the rare and appreciation of the humble, instinctively knowing both hold magical meaning.
This is reflected in the Azoth Symbol—the sacred text having been recopied over and over, always bearing the same words in the same order. But in the scroll on this particular wall, the calligraphy is unique—revealing the masterful and idiosyncratic hand of the calligrapher.
Just as the curve of the horizon in the Pleiadian symbol remains constant—always regular and everywhere the same—its uniqueness emerges through the contours of mountains that interrupt it, and through the shaping power of the visionary’s imagination.
